School
There are three main types of secondary schools in Hungary. Most exchange students will attend the Gymnasium as it prepares students for college. Â
Language RequirementS
There are no language requirements for Hungary exchange programs.
Family
Hungarian families are known for their hospitality and will love welcoming you to their homes and into their culture. Hungarian families enjoy spending time together, and food plays a big part in family life, with most families enjoying dinner together. Hungarian teenagers enjoy many of the same activities as teenagers in Australia and New Zealand – hanging out with friends in cafes, attending concerts and joining in community-based sporting and cultural activities. With expansive national parks and protected areas outdoor pursuits are also popular.
Specialty programs
Music
You’ll study at a Hungarian music high school, where you’ll hone your instrumental skills, participate in an orchestra, perform in concerts, and receive one-on-one instrumental lessons.
Waldorf
You’ll study at a Waldorf high school in Budapest, which follows the principles and values of the Waldorf education system.
bilingual
You’ll be placed in a Hungarian–English bilingual high school with international students from all around the world.
sport
You’ll be guaranteed the opportunity to continue practicing your sport at a sports club and to participate in competitions and championships. It’s a great way to keep honing your skills while enjoying a rich cultural exchange experience.
